As well as being my daughters birthday the 16th September was also the first anniversary of my morning walking campaign. I won’t pretend that I have walked every morning for the whole year but as a general rule I’ve managed at least four or five days a week. As I said in my first Blog post it really has been a great way to start the morning, get some fresh air and get my thoughts composed for the day ahead. As I largely walk the same route I’ve watched the seasons change from Autumn to Winter to Spring to Summer and now back to Autumn again.
I’ve walked in all weathers (I actually really enjoy walking in the rain) and have been joined by friends, by my daughter in the holidays and on a couple of occasions even by my husband Geoff! The low point of the year was being bitten by a neighbours dog on New Years Eve. It was on an extendable lead and supposedly had never done anything like it before but having to have a tetanus injection and a strong course of antibiotics meant that I saw the new Year in stone cold sober and tucked up in bed! In contrast to that there have been many high points – the fantastic misty mornings last autumn, the magical sparkling frosts of winter, the soaring skylarks in the summer sky and the sight and sounds of a fox chasing a muntjac jack deer across a field.
One thing I have done with out fail is to take a photo (or several) using my mobile phone. These aren’t great quality but with a bit of love and tweaking in Photoshop I’ve got some I’m quite pleased with. Those in today’s post cover the period from early August to this morning…
If you’ve made it this far down the page then hopefully you’ll also keep following my walks on the Pixel Chef . I intend to keep taking pictures as I trudge the lanes as well as compiling a digital project of last year’s images – so watch this space!
