Last night was my second night out in a week (virtually unheard of!) as we headed off to the UEA to see Passenger. I took my daughter and her friend and as I was going to have to do the lifts and rather like Passenger, I though that I’d get myself a ticket as well. I’m really glad that I did!
We arrived quite early so that we could queue to get a good spot and we were pretty lucky be about four rows from the front – although there was off course the inevitable, rather annoying tall person with big hair who appeared in front of us just before the gig started! The evening kicked of with a set by a Canadian folk band called The Once who did a great job of warming the audience up and were very good!
Then it was time for Passenger – a man with a guitar, bags of energy, great banter and lots of brilliant songs – some sad, some uplifting, some thought provoking and some which elicited some great audience participation. Between songs Passenger gave us a real insight into his career, his life and his music all peppered with lots of fun and humour.
Never being one to travel without a camera I just happened to have my trusty 6D plus 50mm 1.4 lens tucked into my new birthday handbag and was able to get some good shots – in spite of the big man with the big hair (I’ll have to work on getting ride of him in photoshop!)
The set came to a close with a great encore – which we all sang for using one of the riffs from a previous songs – which included a number with The Once. All in all it was a fantastic gig – we all came away smiling and singing!
Great photos. Can I please purchase 1 or 2 from you? What prices might they be?
Hi – I’d also be interested in having one or two of the photos. (I was also there and took one or two with my phone but yours are much better!) Thanks.
