Dryathlon day 17: I demand to have some booze!

This evening I feel like just Withnail in the brilliant 1987 film Withnail and I.  As I sat in front of my  spaghetti and meat balls this evening wanted to shout:

“I must have some booze.  I demand to have some booze!”

That meal was just crying out for a glass of Chianti.  Of course I just settled for my usual glass of mineral water  which I have decided is by far the best thing to drink with food if you are not having wine.  Over the last 17 days I’ve tried orange juice, blueberry and acai berry smoothie, strawberry and banana smooothie, red grape juice, pomegranate and cranberry drink, pomegranate and elderflower cordial, redcurrant and apple sparkling mineral water, raspberry and rose mineral water and gallons and gallons of tea. But nothing beats that lovely warm glass of red with a bowlful of steaming pasta…

You will glad to know that in my desperation I have not resorted to more colourful liquids such as lighter fluid or meths…

On the subject of meths if you haven’t picked up on the brilliant customer reviews of Barrettine Methylated Spirit then check it out here  http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B002ATI4VG – it will bring a smile to your sober face!

*Please note no Meths was ingested in the writing of this Blog post.
