Over the Christmas holidays my early walking campaign came to an abrupt halt – in spite of the very best intentions! But today my son was back at 6th Form college and my daughter returned to school, so it was thankfully back to the old routine.
I have waxed lyrical on this Blog about my walks around the country lanes and how it really sets me up for the day as our business is based at an office in our home. This morning was no exception even though it was rather grey and non-descript and not a great morning for taking photos as the light was dull and flat. However I was rather taken with the foot prints I spotted in a muddy verge – it’s difficult to get an idea of the size from the photos but they were pretty big!
As so to day 8 of the Dryathon – it is now the longest that I’ve gone without a drink for a good many years. Last year I had to have an enforced 7 days off the booze as I was bitten by a dog – yes out on my morning walk along the very lanes in these photos – on the day before New Year’s Eve! As a result I had to have a tetanus jab and a course of very strong antibiotics which meant no alcohol. I spent last New Year’s Eve feeling miserable and went to bed by 10 which is why I was determined to have a good night this year! But this evening the novelty of being alcohol free has worn off somewhat – and I really could really do with a nice glass of red wine!
On a positive note though my sponsorship has gone up again today and now stands at £120. If you feel like sponsoring me click HERE
No!No!No! Red wine is a devil in disguise sitting on your shoulder. Listen to the marshmallow angel on the other shoulder and savour the hot chocolate! If we both make it through the month do you fancy a drink to celebrate? – not sure if that’s the right thing to say!!!
Oh yes a drink to celebrate is exactly the right thing to say! I’ve got this far I’m determined not to give in!
Go Girl! Power to your marshmallows!
