Just over a week ago I headed into Norwich to get my vaccine. It was quite a trip out as we haven’t ventured into the City since August last year! We decided to arrive a bit earlier than my appointment and take a little walk around the streets and I thought it would be a good excuse to crack out my camera which has been sorely neglected over the last few months. I have to say it was quite a sad and depressing experience seeing all the closed and empty shops – several of which will not open again once we get back to normal.
My jab was scheduled in the food Hall in the Castle Quarter (AKA Castle Mall) which was a bizarre experience in itself. No fast food and coffee but an orderly row of medical professionals with laptops and syringes ready to vaccinate a City! Like everyone who has been through the process here – and in other centres across the County – the system was slick, well organised and very friendly.
For those interested I had the AstraZena vaccine. I felt fine for the rest of the day but the next day I felt rather under the weather and had a sore arm – although it was not bad enough to stop me going on our daily walk. The next day I felt a little spaced out but was able to get back to my normal exercise regime! My next jab is scheduled for the end of May by which time the shops should be open again – I wonder what that new normal will look like!
