Yoga Mala

For the second year running I have taken part in a yoga mala to mark the spring equinox. The event was organised by my yoga teacher Su of Susan Yoga who invited all of her classes to take part in the traditional celebration to mark the return of spring.  For the non yogis amongst you the mala involves performing up to 108 sun salutations – a lovely sequence of movements that both stretch and invigorate.

I must say this evening was not spring like at all.  By the time I reached the hall where the event was happening it was cold, wet and nearly dark.  But once inside the candles and the spring flowers really lifted the mood.

Like last year we were also raising money for a charity – this year  all money raised will go to the The Humanitarian Concern Centre (HCC) an orphanage in Kathmandu in Nepal.  Watch this space to find out how much we raised…
