Clowns, dolls and statues

I’m a regular visitor to Watton Salerooms on Mondays for the pre-auction evening viewing as I have to pick my son up from his part-time job there. It’s a fascinating place and I have blogged about it in the past both on our business photography site and on the Pixel Chef last year. Over the years we’ve bought all sorts of thing from the auctions – when we first moved here 20 years ago we had a lot of space to fill with not a great deal of cash and we bought some real bargains – from a large wooden table to a Victorian school desk. More recently I have been buying vintage plates and cups to makes cake stands and cup candles to sell at village craft events.

The auction viewing is also a great place to take photos of all sorts of weird and wonderful collectables – some of them rather scary as you will see in this post.  I think I’ll stick to bidding for crockery for now!
