I’m excited to announce a new feature for the Pixel Chef – Make it Monday! The idea grew from visiting a client of our’s Retrorecyclers – a fabulous antiques and collectables centre in Watton. As well as selling pre-loved items and running a vintage tea rooms Retrorecyclers also offers upholstery courses and taster sessions. After photographing one of these sessions for the company’s Blog last Monday I was back this week with a project of my own – an old mahogany chair that has been languishing in our loft for many years.
Over the course of the morning I set to work transforming the chair into something a little bit better with the help of Sue from Sue’s upholstery who runs the classes. She was a great teacher – encouraging me whilst making sure that I did everything properly (I had to unpick one part as it wasn’t up to scratch!). It was a lovely way to spend a morning and great to do something hands on in the real, rather than the virtual, world. Hopefully you will agree that the finished chair is a great improvement – I think there are one or two more in the loft so I will be back to do more!
