Dryathlon day 13: If you can’t drink it cook with it!

Blogging late again after a lovely relaxing Sunday.  I spent a lot of the afternoon in the kitchen cooking with my daughter.  I made pheasant cooked in red wine with spices and jumbo raisins and red cabbage with bacon with a splash of port.  Before you report me to the Dryathlon Police I can confirm that not at drop of the sauces touched my lips until all the alcohol was boiled well away.  I did enjoy sniffing the fumes though! Meanwhile my daughter made apple tart with an apricot glaze, some meringues and some Hokey Pokey.  After scoffing all of the above we then collapsed in front of a roaring log fire to watch a film with big steaming mugs of tea….
